Strava Debuts #GIVEKUDOS Ad Campaign

SAN FRANCISCO – June 6, 2018 – The sweaty high five. The cheers of a cold one. The exhaustive sigh when you get in the passenger seat. We all know the feeling – there’s nothing better than the shared experience of finishing your first 10K or setting a new personal best. Those are the moments Strava’s 30 million athletes cheered on with more than 2.3 billion Kudos in 2017. Now Strava celebrates the shared experience of athletes everywhere with its new #GIVEKUDOS advertising campaign.

“In our best moments, our community is cheering people on and motivating them to live healthy, active lives,” says James Quarles, Strava CEO. “We’re convinced that people keep people active, and we designed #GIVEKUDOS to fuel this spirit.”

A recent independent study at Glasgow Caledonian University of more than 8,000 athletes who use Strava had striking results: 69% reported that using Strava had a positive impact on their happiness, and 83% said that Strava improved their motivation to exercise. #GIVEKUDOS is a continuation of the sentiment that started with the #AthletesUnfiltered campaign highlighting the values of Strava’s community and the unifying spirit of sport.

Developed with Stink Studios, “Give Kudos” is the first time the company has used digital and out-of-home advertising as a significant component of a marketing campaign that includes print and digital ads, videos, a suite of stickers and filters and a campaign website. Ads will appear on billboards, street level barricades, bus stops and bike share stations throughout Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco.
