Kuai multisport biometric headphones prototype

Shenzhen, China. – Kuaiwear unveils the release of Kuai – the world’s first multisport biometric headphones, available now on Kickstarter. Kuai eliminates the need to carry multiple devices during a workout by combining a heart rate monitor, foot pod, sport watch, MP3 player and virtual coach into a comfortable and waterproof headphone. Using technology clinically validated by Duke University’s Center for Living, Kuai calculates heart rate, VO2 max, calories, cadence, distance, pace and speed in land and water. Ideal for any sport, it offers the ability to create and download customizable, professional training plans, receive voice feedback and configurable voice alerts to train smarter and improve performance.

Kuaiwear co-founder and CEO, Carlos Marco Rider, is an experienced marathoner and triathlete with a background in business and technology. “The desire to exercise more efficiently drove us to create Kuai, a game changer in the sports industry designed to help people achieve their best, Kuai uses clinically validated technology and provides the most accurate biometric data available in the market, with unmatched connectivity using BLE and ANT+ and customizable training plans, the perfect headphones for virtually any sport, including swimming.”

Kuai is waterproof up to three meters and includes custom ear tips for different sports to ensure a secure fit. The headphones have five-hour battery live and can operate autonomously using its 8GB of memory and MP3 player, or connected to mobile devices using Bluetooth for the ability to answer phone calls and listen to music using a phone. It can also connect to bike cadence sensors using ANT+ to receive live voice feedback.  Users can access their sport data and control all features using Kuai free mobile apps for iOS and Android or desktop apps for PC and MAC. And they may choose to export the data in .FIT to any popular fitness app like MapMyFitnes, Strava or Garmin.

Kuai monitors users’ biometrics and sport performance using Valencell’s PerformTek® sensor technology. “Top-performing athletes need accurate biometric data to optimize performance and achieve their goals, no matter what sport they practice. The most optimal place to capture these metrics is the ear, providing highly accurate biometric readings as well as a convenient form-factor for the user that does not disrupt activity,” said Dr. Steven LeBoeuf, co-founder and President of Valencell, Inc. “I am particularly impressed by Kuaiwear’s unique application of Valencell’s sensor technology toward the development of the world’s first highly accurate, robust biometric wearable for triathletes.”

Kuaiwear already has working prototypes and will be hosting live demonstrations at Ironman 70.3 Boulder on June 12 and 13.

The company will be using its Kickstarter support to manufacture the product. The Kickstarter campaign runs from June 9, 2015 to July 9, 2015 and is slated to ship in November. Visit Kuaiwear’s Kickstarter campaign today.
