At the Mobile World Congress Withings partners with WorkSmart Labs to help users seamlessly update their weight entries to their CardioTrainer account

Barcelona, Spain [MWC Android Stand Hall 8] – February 14th, 2011- Today, Withings is announcing its partnership with CardioTrainer, the fast-growing mobile fitness application provider from WorkSmart Lab.  As of today, the Withings WiFi Body Scale can communicate and update a user’s CardioTrainer personal account wirelessly using its built-in WiFi connection. Being showcased at the Android™ stand, Withings and CardioTrainer are demonstrating a new push mode for the Withings Android App that allows user to be instantly informed that a new data is available. Furthermore, the famed Withings WiFi body scale is taking a step forward with Android.  Withings is utilizing the Android Content Provider feature, which revolutionizes the way Smartphones can become even smarter and quicker. This new feature allows applications to be updated locally and automatically by data generated by another application. CardioTrainer is using this feature to pull in weight data for the Weight Loss Trainer customers.

The Withings WiFi Body Scale is the world’s first WiFi connected personal weight scale, which automatically records the user’s body weight, lean & fat mass, and calculated body mass index (BMI) to his/her secure webpage and/or free Withings Android or IOS application, Withings.  Also, if enabled by the user, the scale can automatically “Tweet” or post on Facebook information in order to get motivation from the users’ network of followers and friends.

CardioTrainer is a free, next-generation mobile fitness and weight loss application. Set up a weight loss goal and workout schedule, and be notified when you have upcoming workouts. The application lets you track your weight loss progress share with family and friends to help meet those goals. The application has millions of users on Android.

Saeju Jeong, CEO and co-founder of WorkSmart Labs: “As a company, we are interested in using technology to encourage people to live healthier lifestyles. Integrating with the Withings WiFi scale is an excellent example of how we’re exploring new ways to use the Android platform to make this possible.
